Diñgez çakıra

Akkoşlar küldä.

Kanatları kabargan.

Su älegä salkın.

Diñgez çakıra.

Tirän çuması kilä.

Vakıt äzäyä.

Koyaş çıga zurayıp.

Böten yaknı yaktırta.

Kara bolıt kemne agarta?

Kül öste közge,

tıp-tın, may yotkan kebek.

Karga karıldıy.

Döm karañgılık.

Ber tavış ta yuk sıman.

Yabalak uyau.

Tönge diñgezdä

ay şäüläse yul sala.

Tizdän yugala.

Tönnär bik ozın.

Gel yoklamıyça ütä.

Haiku vakıtı.

The sea is calling – translation Fazile Nasretdin and Sabira Stahlberg

Swans swim on the lake

ruffling up their wings.

Water is still cold.

The sea is calling.

I wish to dive deep.

Time is running out.

Sun rises and grows

lighting up all around.

Who needs black clouds?

The lake is a mirror.

Quiet with oily surface.

Crow is croaking.

It is pitch dark.

Seems there is no sound.

The owl is awake.

On the nightly sea

the moon shapes the way.

It disappears soon.

Nights are very long.

They pass in sleeplessness.

Time for haiku.
